The beautiful beaches Jurassic Coast–DORSET

Dorset’s climate of warm summers and mild winters is partly due to its position on Britain’s south coast. The third most southerly county in the UK, Dorset is less affected by the more intense Atlantic winds than Cornwall and Devon. The south coast counties of Dorset, Hampshire, West Sussex, East Sussex, and Kent enjoy more sunshine than anywhere else in the United Kingdom, receiving 1,541–1,885 hours a year. Its coast is called Jurassic Coast in the United Kingdom, mainly because that area is composed of limestone cliffs produced in the Jurassic era. It has a special shape and has a history of 180 million years.

The large ports of Portland and Poole are the two main embarkation points. The former is the sailing venue for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Both have clubs or rented venues for sailing, boating, sea kayaking, and motorboating.

DURDLE DOOR, JURASSIC COAST, DORSET

On the Jurassic Coast, Durdle Door is the name of the limestone arch between two lovely beaches, St. Oswald Bay and Man O’War Cove. Even on the hottest days of summer, they will not be overcrowded. To get here, you need to climb a few hundred steps on the cliff, which makes it a long way to get back to the toilet or get a sandwich. But it is worth climbing. This is a beautiful place that is obscured by the wind and is very eye-catching, so it was selected as the filming location of “Find from the Madding Crowd” and “Wilde”, the artwork of “Pink Floyd”, and “Cliff Richard”, “Bruce Dickinson” and “Teers for Fears” music videos. Unexpectedly, the sea was azure blue and crystal clear-although it was suffocatingly cold, even the bravest swimmers could not breathe.

The neighboring Lulworth Cove is more popular among families, the nearby facilities are easier to reach, and there are several hotels overlooking the bay.

Chesil Beach

Portland Island is the southernmost part of Dorset, and Portland Island is also part of the beautiful Jurassic Coast. The island made of limestone is not only famous for its geology, but also because one of the most beautiful beaches -Chesil Beach is also here. Chesil Beach is a pebble beach, 17 miles long, and you can see the sea by climbing the soft rock slope of the beach. The two sides of the beaches are completely different scenery, one is the turbulent sea, and the other is a piece of peace. Perhaps it was relying on the turbulent sea to polish these soft stones so round. Although this beach is only 6000 years old, the magnificence of the beach is also perfect!

 Weymouth

The Central Beach here has a history of more than 200 years since King George III, and has repeatedly won the honorary award for clean beaches in Britain. Here is a typical British fan retro beach. There are many traditional Victorian hotels, traditional pubs, fashionable bars, coffee shops, and restaurants along the bustling promenade. You can find a sunny weekend, book a sea view room, and enjoy your vacation warmly.

Sandbanks

This is one of the cleanest beaches in the UK. If you like to wade on the clean and soft sand on sunny days, this must be your vacation “paradise”. The most distinctive feature here is the white sandy beach, which is cleaned regularly by the staff, and the toilet and shower facilities are also very complete. It is a good place for surfing, swimming and playing beach games in summer. With its soft golden sands and stunning scenery, the Blue Flag Award has won the award for more than 30 years. It is no wonder that Sandbanks is considered one of the best beaches in the UK.

This sandbar is a small peninsula that crosses Porte Harbour. Sandbanks Beach is the highest quality beach. Soft sand is ideal for building sandcastles.

If you want to exercise, there are water sports and equipment rental services, as well as volleyball nets, dragnets and table tennis. If you just want to sit back and relax and enjoy the view, Sandbanks Beach is also very suitable. There are also beach huts available for short-term and annual rentals.

Sandbar Beach is naturally beautiful throughout the year, with stunning views of Studland and Old Harry Rocks. On a clear day, you can discover the Isle of Wight.

It is said that this is also the most expensive beach in the UK. House prices near this beach are about 10 million pounds or more. It is said that many celebrities have residences here, and Sandbanks Beach has become synonymous with luxury and leisure lifestyles. This beach is also the beach with the highest score in the 2013 Blue Flag beach selection and has been repeatedly rated as one of the safest beaches in Europe.

Paradise of surfer– Devon

Devon has many coastal resorts and some historic cities. Coupled with its mild weather, tourism accounts for a very important position in the economy of Devon County.

Devon usually has a cool climate and is affected by drifting in the North Atlantic. Snowfall is rare in winter compared to the highlands, although there are exceptions. The county has mild summers with occasional warm weather and cool rainy seasons. Winters are usually cool, and the county often experiences some of the mildest winters in the world due to its high latitudes, with an average daily maximum temperature of 8°C in January. Rainfall varies widely throughout the county, the amount of sunlight is also very different: the marshes are usually cloudy, but the southeast coast from Salcombe to Exmouth is one of the sunniest areas in the UK. With west or southwest winds and high pressure, the areas around Torbay and Teignmouth are usually warm and sunny due to the Foehn effect.
